This certainly seems like a technology update, as Prophecies characters on accounts that own Factions can take advantage of it without ever getting to Factions content.

Edit: Note that the argument "It's because you need more space with two chapters" doesn't apply, because you can own only Factions and still have the enhanced storage.

yea even tho i have Factions I find it completely unfair to leave Tyria out of this. thats just completely evil and it shows how much they want people to buy Factions. Tyrians are probably gonna revolt just like the monks at THK.

Will open up a grand total of 2 slots for me. More or less useless. :| Please let this not be the end of improved storage. Or at least make them general slots, not slots that can only be used for 1 type of item.

Mind you, does seem to be a bit of a pattern there. Merge keys/accounts and have complete access to both Tyrian and Canthan content? Didn't quite happen until complaints were raised about that issue (and still isn't quite 100% as a lot of the quests aren't all open to cross campaign characters..)

It is a bit of a slippery slope when company representatives/developers promise one thing and then seem to partially deliver, or deliver with conditions attached. Conditions which the customers didn't ask for. Ah well, nothing new there really that's most games companies anyway hehe

Since it seems this materials storage is comming couldn't they atleast let it hold multiple stacks of the same material and rare material. What I mean is instead of only having 1 spot for 250 wood, let the whole 34 slots be open to materials and rare. So say I could have 34 stacks of wood if I wish to do so. I would be fine with it, if it was like this. Still have it only hold materials and rare is fine. but their current way is so restricting. How many people are hording vials of ink? or some other material rarely used.

For those of you wondering about why Kappa shells were referenced these are collectors items and not eligible.

I just checked the storage page and all references to Kappa shells have been removed.... so no collectors storage

Well it's not really gonna be an auction house.... more like a log house in the middle of the woods where you can trade stacks of cloth and hides for food and medicines. You see, what people don't realize is that Guild Wars Chapter 3 is actually gonna be set in the age of pioneers. Special event will be Log Day where you get a special beaver tail hat at the end. Special games include marksmanship, victo's axe toss, and the speed tree falling where you gotta use your skills to see who can bring a tree down the quickest. And note the tree needs to be INTACT so please no Enraged Smash....

um.... what was I talking about again?

Oh right. Well considering how conservative ANET is trying to be with bandwidth with this method of extra storage, I'll agree an auction house has a much smaller chance of seeing the light of day now since transferring that much data to trade completely dwarfs the amount of data required to tell the storage how much of a set material you have.

Yeah, Anets gonna start seeing less and less customers with future chapters if this is how they go about stuff. They can't just ignore the old chapters and keep updating the latest one. People will get tired of paying 50 bucks for a game that will last, what did they say, a quarter of a year. Are they releasing new chapters every quarter or every half? Either way it still won't be worth buying the games.

wow, read the first 3 pages of this and just got waaay to pissed to read the rest - everyone is COMPLAINING!!

wtf? i mean cmon, this is a START- its a good start for me. yes, like many of you i have more than 250 of most common materials and some rare ones (steel and parch) but this will at least free up some space on my material mule.

yes, im sure ANET knows we want more space for dyes, weaps, armor, holiday items, etc, etc, but at least now they are making some PROGRESS. whos to say an armor tab, weapon tab, dye tab, etc isnt in the works and theyll introduce those if there no big issues with this one? im betting thats what happens.

im disappointed its a factions only thing too, but honestly guys, im consolodating to 1 acct when i can buy 2 slots for the one i do have factions for. to those who dont have factions, my condolences but its really just simple marketing.

so please, stop the moaning and be HAPPY we're getting SOMETHING

Promising game wide features for anyone regardless of how many chapters they own was marketting as well. And they just showed they are outright lieing about it. Next on the block - reconnects only if you buy chapter 3.
